New Clients
Something in your life may no longer be working.
Perhaps anxiety follows you wherever you go, grief has altered the landscape of your world, or you find yourself caught in patterns that repeat despite your best efforts to change them. You may feel disconnected from yourself, uncertain of your path, or burdened by a sense that there must be more to life than simply getting through each day. Sometimes we know exactly what hurts. Just as often, we feel a pain without a clear source or name.
I believe that our struggles carry meaning.
Symptoms such as anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, or a persistent feeling of emptiness are not simply problems to eliminate—they are often signals from deeper parts of ourselves asking to be heard. Therapy is a process of learning to listen to those signals with curiosity and compassion. Together, we will explore what your distress may be trying to communicate, listening deeply until the path forward begins to emerge.
I want you to feel welcome here. Below I've provided answers to many of the questions I get from new clients about me, my approach to therapy, and the experience and logistics of working together. I hope they provide some clarity as you navigate the process of finding the right therapist for you.
FAQs
Who do you work with? Is this the right fit for me?
I work with adults in quarter-life, midlife, and beyond who are seeking healing, meaning, and a more authentic relationship with themselves. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed or dehumanized by modern life. Others are carrying the legacy of painful family dynamics, restrictive religious environments, parentification, shame, anxiety, or unresolved trauma. Often, they have spent years adapting to survive while losing touch with who they truly are.
I work with a variety of presenting issues, including (but not limited to) depression, grief, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, disturbing and/or recurring dreams, concerns about eating and body image, questions & blocks around creativity, questions of spirituality or religious belief, work & career explorations, and any questions arising around identity.
My therapeutic stance affirms and values your personal experience of being human, and you are welcome here. If you have any hesitation or concerns about whether we can work together based on color, age, gender, or other identity differences, I am very open to exploring this with you.
What is it like to do therapy with you?
This is a great question. Finding the right therapist is really about finding the right fit.
I am not a "blank-faced" or distant therapist. My approach is whole-hearted, engaged, and curious. I listen deeply, and want to really know you -- you can expect me to interact with you and ask questions in an attempt to help us get to the root of what is happening for you.
I work from a Jungian perspective, paying attention to dreams, symbols, creativity, and the unconscious dimensions of experience. My approach integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support trauma healing and lasting change. Underlying my work is a commitment to feminist, social justice, and liberation-oriented values, and a belief that healing happens not only through insight, but through cultivating a deeper relationship with the self.
Ultimately, I want you to feel better. But my goal is not only to reduce symptoms. I also want to help you reconnect with the deeper wisdom within yourself. I think at it's best, therapy can be a place to reclaim lost parts of who you are, loosen old patterns that no longer serve you, and discover a way of living that feels more whole, alive, and true.
Where do we meet?
I am currently only offering therapy remotely, through a HIPAA-compliant online video platform. Before our first meeting, I will send you a link to the video session.
How much does therapy cost? Do you take insurance?
Session Cost & Insurance: My fees are $150/session, and I am currently an in-network provider with Pacificsource (commercial plans only), Regence, & Aetna.
How do I schedule a session with you?
First, let's have a consult! I usually find that it helps to have a 20-30 minute phone call in which we get to know each other. This gives you a chance to get a sense of what I'm like, and I can get to know you better - what you are looking for in therapy, and whether or not I'm the right fit. It also makes sure that our logistics align (that we're available at the same times, and that I take your insurance, etc.)
If you'd like to set up a consultation, please contact me by email. I look forward to hearing from you!
